Governor Kathy Hochul Does Not Get to Play Both Sides of the Immigration Fence!
Hochull made NY State a sanctuary state, plain and simple. Now she wants to stop the flow of illegals and is attempting to blame republicans for the mess!
NY Governor Kathy Hochul seems to be flip-flopping on her previous immigration stance. This year alone, well over 100,000 illegals, from south of the border have invaded NY City, and wreaked havoc not only on the city’s infrastructure and economy, but also on the taxpayer’s patience! NY residents from both parties have had just about enough of the BS and hypocrisy that is coming from Albany under her administration. The reason being is that illegals, who broke federal immigration laws to get here, are getting better treatment than NY taxpayers! In December 2021, Governor Hochul wanted you and I to welcome all of them with open arms and wallets, even going so far as to quote the inscription on the Statue of Liberty.
As you know, the Statue of Liberty is inscribed. It says, give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses, yearning to be free. Our message to the world is send us your people and send us those who need our cloak of comfort. You’re welcome with open arms and we’ll work to keep you safe. We’ll not only house you, but we’ll protect you.
New York Governor, Kathy Hochul
Fast forward almost 2 years and 100,000 plus illegal aliens, and Kathy Hochul is singing a new tune. She now sounds like she has developed some common sense and is realizing that illegal immigration of the current magnitude has severe consequences.
I want them to have a limit on who can come across the border. It is too open right now. People coming from all over the world are finding their way through, simply saying they need asylum. And the majority of them seem to be ending up in the streets of New York. Something needs to change. We are one of the most diverse places on earth because of our welcoming nature, and it's in our DNA to welcome immigrants. But there has to be some limits in place, and Congress has to put more controls at the border.
Although Hochul is absolutely correct here, the current situation in NY is her fault to begin with, because she urged these people to come. The entire national immigration problem is the fault of her party attempting to change demographics and fill as many states as possible with democrat voters. And now that NY City is overflowing with illegals, her plan is to start sending them to cities and towns all over NY.
Well, here is a news flash for Governor Hochul. Taxpayers don’t pay taxes so their money can be used to house and protect people who broke immigration laws to get here. These people are not here seeking asylum, they are here seeking the very handouts that the state of NY and federal government are giving them. The burden of these handouts is being paid for by the taxpayers, and I can tell you right now that they didn’t sign up for this.
Without hesitation, I would be happy to help those people who come here legally just as others have in the past. The United States has always been a melting pot of immigrants from all over the world, and when immigrants came through Ellis Island and other ports of entry, they were screened and had to assimilate the culture of the United States. The very immigration laws being broken by illegals and the Biden regime were created because we used to be care about the consequences that this massive amount of immigration can have on a nation.
And just when you thought Hochul was starting to sound like a republican, she turns around and blames the republican party for the immigration fiasco throughout the country. I want to be clear on why she is blaming republicans for the damage being done by her own party…it is called self-preservation. She can’t possibly speak out against the illegal immigration policies of the Biden regime, without running cover for herself and the regime.
Democrats have answers, but as long as Republicans see that they can make gains with this, that they can score more points with this, then they’re not willing to come to the table and actually do what Americans want, which is two parties working together to solve problems. That shouldn’t be such a radical concept. So that’s what we’re facing now, is this gridlock that is driven by the Republicans who are enjoying this spectacle, who have no intention of helping solve it, so this lies on their feet as well.
It is a well-known fact that NY elections are decided by downstate voters…and right now, they are pretty angry!
