Is Elon Musk and X Continuing What Appears to Be the Shadow Banning of Conservative Voices?
Although free speech was his reason for purchasing Twitter in the first place, it appears that shadow banning may still be in their wheelhouse.
Shadow banning on social media platforms was the left’s answer to conservative thought and speech. With shadow banning, the idea was to allow people to post on social media but give readers either limited, or no access to the content, all without the author's knowledge. In other words, when someone posts on X, a shadow ban would make it so people could not see the post. And if people don’t see the posts, the author doesn’t get any likes, comments or reposts. For the leftist, anti 1st Amendment thugs, the hope was that eventually the conservative would throw their hands up and quit the site, thus leaving it to all the liberal commies who believe in free speech for themselves only.
Since the purchase of Twitter, things on the site have gotten a lot better for conservative voices, so I will give credit where credit is due. However, when I post stuff on X, it shows very limited engagement, no one hitting the like button, and no commenting or reposting. Many others, who have approximately the same number of followers that I do and post the same type of content get hits all the time, well into the thousands. There are many others, like myself who still feel that shadow banning is either still happening in real time, or it is a setting that was left over from when the communists were running the site.
Now, I understand that some accounts post violent and hateful content, or porn and other horrible things on social media, and those platforms have a right and in many cases a duty to either shut down the account or ban its content from view. But political speech, criticism of the government, disseminating information that holds government accountable should not be banned in any way, shape or form. Hell, the liberal media does enough of that now, on behalf of the liberal benefactors within the federal government. Here is a great example; when I post a meme or written tweet on president Biden’s Twitter feed, I get several views only and no likes, reposts or comments. The same thing happens when I post on other, leftist politicians’ Twitter feeds, all of this while others with similar amounts of followers and content get massive hits. And there are still many others who are having the same problem I am.
To Elon Musk; what gives? Are you really going to open up the site and let everyone be heard, or is there still an effort to shadow ban conservative voices? And don’t say that Linda Yaccarino, your new CEO is in full charge of all that because everyone has been asking where the hell she is lately. According to Wired.com, Yaccarino hasn’t been heard from in quite some time, and that during your all hands meeting back in October/November, you were the one doing all the talking, not Yaccarino. We also know that Yaccarino is a WEF alumni, so I am not quite sure why she was brought in to begin with, when their entire platform is anti-freedom, anti-free speech and anti-American!
If I am wrong here, then I apologize. But after all the past involvement of federal agencies silencing conservative voices on yours and other social media platforms, it is worthy of revisiting what could very well be an ongoing problem.
