Is There Any Truth to the Idea that Obama Was Working Against a Kamala Harris Presidency?

There is a very real possibility that Obama would rather have Trump in office than Kamala for the next 4 years.

In July 2024, right after Biden bailed out of the race, the entire democrat apparatus was all in for Kamala Harris. The only person in the democrat party who didn’t endorse her immediately was Barack Obama. As a matter of fact, it took him 5 days to give his endorsement.

Jonathan Allen, reporter for NBC Digital and author, had the following to say it.

President Obama absolutely did not think that Joe Biden should continue, according to our sources close to President Obama. And he also didn’t want Kamala Harris to be the replacement for Biden. He didn’t think that she was the best choice for Democrats, and he worked really behind the scenes for a long time to try to have a mini-primary, or an open convention, or a mini-primary leading to an open convention, did not have faith in her ability to win the election and so as it turned out, she didn’t win, but he was really working against her.

In one moment he set up a phone call with Congressman Clyburn from South Carolina on the day that Joe Biden handed off the baton to Kamala Harris and Obama had set up a call with Clyburn for like 5:30 that afternoon and Clyburn thought to himself, this guy is going to try to rope me into the open convention thing, I better get my endorsement of Harris out there fast so that this is a short conversation – and when Harris talked to Obama on the day that Biden handed off to her, Obama was unwilling to give his endorsement then

This scenario is probably true for a couple reasons, the first of which is the fact that Kamala Harris would not be as easily controlled as a dementia ridden Joe Biden was. It is a fact that many Kamala Harris staff members said she was an absolute raging bitch and highly insecure. A democrat like her in the White House could do even more damage to the party than has already been done. And attempting to autopen her signature behind her back would be next to impossible.
